Hello, I am Avery, a senior commercial trainer for refrigeration at GE Appliances. I am excited to share our efforts to create high-quality and reliable Hotpoint and GE top freezer refrigerators. Our customers and product users consistently rate us as number one in quality and dependability. Property managers frequently choose GE as the brand that makes the most dependable and highest-quality top freezer refrigerators.

GE Appliances Refrigeration

At GE Appliances, we go above and beyond to ensure the safety and reliability of our top freezer refrigerators. We meet and exceed UL safety standards through rigorous design and testing. We performed nine additional tests beyond the required ones. We subject our hinges and doors to over one million cycle tests, three times the UL testing standard.

We have also invested heavily in three areas that significantly impact the performance of our refrigerators: handles, hinges, and galvanization. Handles, the most frequently used part of the refrigerator, are subjected to extensive testing to ensure their durability. Similarly, our hinges and galvanization are also carefully designed and tested to withstand the wear and tear of everyday use.

Have you ever imagined how many times a tenant opens and closes the doors of a refrigerator during a lease? The doors undergo a lot of twisting as they are opened from different sides and are often opened and completed quickly. As a mom of three boys, I can also attest that kids may sometimes be hanging on the handles.

When it comes time to turn over a unit, replacing handles or the entire refrigerator can be costly. This is why we anchor our handles in the sturdiest manner possible. Our screws lock into a metal thread, providing three and a half times more strip torque than the screws of our competitors, which drive into the door foam. Our handle design also uses a metal handle racket for the mount for added durability, while our leading competitor uses plastic.

Now let’s talk about hinges. Have you ever received a call from a customer needing an emergency refrigerator delivery because their tenant is angry about their groceries spoiling due to a faulty refrigerator? This problem can often be traced back to weak hinges.

At GE Appliances, we use 79% more robust hinges and 70% thicker than other manufacturers. This is a significant advantage because weak hinges can cause doors to sag over time. Breaking the seal leads to moisture or ice buildup in the unit, damaged food, and higher electricity use. We also use a thick and robust gasket to pair with our strong hinges for an even more reliable seal.

Our third differentiator is our use of galvanized doors. Our Hotpoint and GE top freezer doors use galvanized steel designed to withstand highly corrosive conditions. It is common for residents to ding or scratches a door, and household cleaner residue may sometimes accidentally end up on the lower gate. Both of these situations can lead to rust appearing on the doors.

Our use of galvanized steel helps prevent this from occurring and allows our refrigerators to withstand better corrosive conditions such as high humidity and salt exposure. These critical design aspects result in an industry-leading service call rate of less than 2%, meaning fewer than 2 out of every 100 top freezers need servicing within the first year. Based on feedback from customers like you, we believe this is world-class and the best in the industry. Additionally, we have invested in features that matter and make a difference to property managers, such as high gloss or textured doors. Textured doors show fewer fingerprints and can also be easier to clean.

Our top freezer lineup also caters to a wide range of customer needs, including those with disabilities. We offer 16, 17, 19, 21, and 22 cubic foot options covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act. These options help with reach limitations and ensure that handles and knobs are within easy reach and easy to operate. Some of our models come with factory-installed ice makers. In contrast, others offer to add an ice maker as an accessory. This allows you and your customers to choose the right refrigerator to fit their needs.

If your customer wants to save money on their energy bill, we also offer Energy Star units in various sizes. Whether your customers are paying the utility bill themselves or need a product specified as Energy Star, we have options they will appreciate. Overall, you can be confident selling your customers high-quality Hotpoint and GE top freezer refrigerators, products that property managers. And development users trust and depend on.
