This is an update on the GE Profile All in one Ventless Washer and Dryer. This particular unit uses a heat pump that warms the air, uses a large fan, pushes the air at a fairly high velocity through to dry the clothes, and it does a pretty good job. I always check the lip trap like I'm showing you here. That's important. My understanding on these units make sure that the lint filter is always cleaned because the lint can be fairly damaging to the heat pump and the large fan that's in the top of the unit.

How to Clean a Load Sensing Load Sensor

I'll probably do a video, maybe in the next week or two, showing how, even with cleaning that filter, there is still a little bit of lipt getting by. So I'm going to investigate that a little further and hopefully be able to show you some of that. The main purpose of this video is: “I want to update the last video, this: I was getting an error after it did a small software update, where it would go through a load and go into a dry this load sensing mode, and it would not finish drying the clothes. It did that several times since then. I'll show you in a little bit, but we've done more than 15 loads in it since then.

Laundry Machine Review

In fact, there was one day where we did eight loads through this. We've got a family, there's five of us, and then with guests staying with us sometimes. Needles to say, we do a lot of laundry sometimes, and this seems to have kept up. That's actually been a question some people had – is well, geez, this takes longer. You can't start a load and then switch it over to a dryer. I think even when we had a separate washer and a separate dryer, I don't think we really ever got through eight loads in a day. I think usually we would get through five or six. But anyway, this machine, we have really liked it. The machine right here is just doing a load sense, basically making sure that it knows what the weight of the clothes are and everything. I think pretty much every front load, and probably a lot of top load wash and dryers do that switched over to the app here.

This is towards the beginning of that load that I was showing you. It shows you how long it's expecting to take to do the load. When I scroll down, there's some options. Basically, you can pick dry time and wrinkle care, and all of that stuff. Then it has a history down at the bottom here of how many loads we've done. Like, I said, that one day we did eight loads. Pretty cool. Then right there, I showed the control lock that actually locks the so that somebody in the laundry room can't mess with the machine. If you have kids or something, you don't want them playing around and messing up the load. You can lock it out so that you only control it remotely with the app.

A couple other features that I really like is this: more dry, the fact that you can click more dry. There's also the wrinkle mode. It's showing history. We were gone for about a week. That's why there's no laundry done on those few days there. There's more than 15 loads there that we did in the space of those few days. That's a lot of laundry. I think it seems to be just fine.

I've Got More Dry Selected

I've got more dry selected right there. Just a minute. I'm going to switch. I'm going to show you you can actually control if you get a notification. I'm back in the app now saying that the load's almost done. If you get a notification that the laundry is done and say you're at the store or you're held up at work or something. You can actually select wrinkle care and it'll tumble dry stuff so that it doesn't get wrinkles. You can also select more dry hair. The app will show you as I select these things.

Smart Appliances – The Tumble Mode

It will put it into the tumble mode or it'll stop tumble mode. Really cool. I think most, at least the smart appliance apps I've used, I've been fairly worthless. This one actually has some use. I actually like it. It's not an app, just for the sake of having an app. I think that sometimes here I put wrinkle care and it put it into the extended tumble mode.

I believe I shut it back off here in a minute. Yep, It takes. There's a little bit of a delay. It says cycle complete and then you can put it back in tumble mode and it will continue to tumble the clothes.
