Today we are reviewing this beautiful toaster. Well, it's a beautiful brand toaster, and what makes it unique is the fact that it has a touch control panel, so pretty high-tech toaster. But there's one other weird thing about this toaster that makes it unique, besides the touch display, and that is, it is Drew Barrymore's toaster. Yes, that's right, Drew Barrymore, the actress. This time she's not using her psychic powers to make toasts. She's using Chinese electronics and a device that's available exclusively at Walmart. Who knew she was into the kitchen appliance game? Well, we're going to run it through its paces and test some of the features that it has and compare it to the old ladder.
So we know she can act, but can she make good toast? Let's start. What do you think? Okay, it's kind of futuristic. It definitely looks different. It has a touch display which fades to invisibility when you're not using it. It has this touch-meter which is really responsive and it also acts as a timer to indicate how much time is left while you're making toast, and it looks really cool on the countertop. It has this mostly matte gray finish, compared to our old toaster, which has, you know, the stainless steel which is easily going to show fingerprints and stuff. Now, of course, it makes toast, but it does have several special buttons, including a bagel mode.
So the first thing I'm going do is compare it to my old toaster and do a test of just making a bagel and see what happens. Okay, you ready to start it? Alright, let me turn the power on in this toaster. You'll power it up. We're also going to press the bagel button. This one has no bagel button. I'll do setting number three on both. Alright, ready to start the timer and go. It probably takes at least a minute or two.
I'm going speed up the footage. Yeah, I'm going to turn the power on. Back up. Comparing the two bags. What's interesting? The old school toaster with no bagel button. This made them hotter.
The Toaster Tested – Single Slice Toast
These are not as hot but they're more evenly done so that one's cooked kind of all the way through. This one has more hot spots, but it's physically hotter, but that one seems more well rounded. So I'd say this one does a pretty good job, although I'd probably click it up to setting four next time. And so the toaster did a beautiful job on the bagel. I'm really pleased with it. Let's continue along this theme and keepcomparing this one to my current toaster, but if you pull this one forward, this one has a little longer cord. None of these appliances have long cords, but this one, definitely the more expensive one, has a longer cord.
Also, this one slides, which you know. We shown that appliance garage. This one does not slide. This one you'll need to pick up and move. Next we're going to try the single slice toast test ready set. Wait time.
Drew Barrymore Toaster Review
Alright, we'll leave this on number three. Number three, go. By the way, the toaster we'recomparing is an old Hamilton Beach. Look like you can get an equivalent toaster for about $16 today on Walmart.com. The Drew Barrymore toaster was about 40% at the time of uploading this video. The new toaster is almost a minute faster than the old one, and the results on the toast were interesting. The new toaster definitely cooked things much more evenly. However, it seemed to cook one side more than the other.
So it seems like the old one applied more heat throughout the toast, but did it with some hot spots where the new one applied less heat more evenly. again. I'll have to play with the settings. Maybe increase from three to get a different result, but so far I'm thinking the new one wins. Another cool feature of this toaster is thereheat button. It allows you to re toast a piece of toast that was previously baked, so let's give that a try. So that was about 30 seconds toreheat it. See what it looks like.
It definitely is warmer down. You know, I guess I put it in the same orientation, so it didn't seem to get any works for the wear. The touchscreen works very well, but, like everything else that moves from physical controls to virtual controls, takes some getting used to and cancel works a little differently in this toaster. Now, if you cancel, let's do a cancel, like if you start like they still, you just start it, hit, cancel, that you can cancel it, you start it, cancel it. Now go ahead and let's see if we can also cancel this way. Nope, so I did not read the manual at all before making this video, but the manual looks like it's pretty good. It has some pictures and the crumb tray is small and slides out easily, which is nice. Not sure what else to say about the toaster.
It's a very, very stylish toaster. I mean the color selection, the combination of the text which fades into the background with the sort of gold script B really looks nice on the counter and it gets the job done pretty well.
